Here's one for my ska/punk and "third wave" ska listeners! Get after it, it's some fantastic rave-up kind of sound on the episode. Of course, I cool it down a bit before it's over, just to let you off easy after the first 2/3rds. Full disclosure, Watashi Wa Dance Party is a punk band that sometimes does ska/punk, I think they do it pretty damn well, I hope all you listeners do too!

Okay, I'm going to level with ya'll. I've never seen "Nikita" AKA "le Femme Nikita." Hell, I have never even seen "Point of No Return." But after picking a few songs after reading a plot synopsis on Wikipedia, I decided this episode needed more French bands. So a lot of early picks got replaced, because, well, this is the perfect excuse to get into some French ska! Sure, two American bands remained from the original song line up, but those are good songs which I think are relevant to the film... right? Alright, fine, I just really liked those two songs and didn't want to replace them, are you happy? Also, I don't speak French, so I hope that in the songs sang in French those bands aren't saying some really horrible stuff!

After I put this episode together, and much too late, I realized that I missed my chance to look for and include a song by the name "Notorious." I guess part of the problem was that none came to mind. Anyway, here's the new episode, I hope you dig it, I have been enjoying this one all week (the spoils of being prepared for once!)

Ok... so... this is the 300th episode. It is also the first episode of 2018 and the first episode in a new set of 23 episodes all loosely based on fictional secret agents. But you'd think I'd have more to say about doing the 300th one of these, right? Personally, I cannot believe I've created 300 mini ska mixes to share with all of you. Every time an episode gets a share and a like on facebook, or an upvote on reddit, or a heart and a retweet on twitter I get a little happier inside. All those small things encourage me to want to keep sharing what I find and what I've found that's great about ska music. Some of the messages I've gotten from bands and listeners have meant the world to me as well, seriously, you are all far too kind. Now, I'd like to say "Here's to 300 more episodes!" While I cannot quite promise that, I can promise that this podcast isn't going anywhere soon, so look forward to another 50 weeks of this show in 2018! (Sorry again about missing last week!)

Hey everyone here’s the last of three episodes featuring songs picked by listeners! All these selections come from listeners on /r/ska or from the 23min of Ska facebook page! There were a lot of suggestions made, and there were a few good songs that got dropped. (Honestly, a lot of the leftover tracks had been played on the show before, they're that good! You listeners sure have taste! Also, there was a few I couldn't track down and by the looks of things, r/ska is still suggesting a bunch of great tracks that I won't get to because I'm doing these three episodes so far ahead of time!) Big thanks to Joseph Esposito, GraphMeister, Zikica Ivanovski, Bennett Kobb, shazbotica and 2-Worlds-2-Furious! This episode literally would not be possible without your suggestions. Thanks for your help in making this a better podcast. Tune in next week when we kick off our "theme" for the next 23 weeks.

00:00 - Soul Radics - Wound Too Tight (Down to the Hall '12)
